Join Cecilia Fajardo-Hill, Idurre Alonso and Selene Preciado, Play with Me exhibition curators, in a conversation with artist Dario Escobar (Guatemala, b. 1971), one of the most renowned contemporary artists from Latin America. Dario Escobar’s work is characterized by the use of common objects that the artist modifies or reconfigures by experimenting with aesthetic and conceptual possibilities. The work in Play with Me exhibition, 0 to 0, proposes a basketball match in which both players are predetermined to tie. Interested in the way sports erase social differences and create new divisions based on teams, with this piece the artist plays with the idea of sports rivalry Escobar has exhibited his work at SCAD, Atlanta (2012), Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago, Chile (2010), Venice Biennial (2009), MOCA, Los Angeles (2007) and Power Plant, Toronto (2003), among others.
